This projects purpose was to create a small environment contained within a dome. Instead of going for a cold snow-globe scene, I went with a lakeside cabin in a warm pine tree forest. This project allowed me to practice with low poly modelling and creating landscapes. The main issue that I found in this project was placing each tree and ensuring the base was not floating above the uneven ground. While familiar with Unreal Engine 4's ground snap feature, I was unable to find a similar one within Maya to speed up this process. Once this scene was rendered within Maya, it was then taken into Photoshop to place the space background.
