TIME TO GO

ABOUT THE GAME

A member from a primitive race of humans finds themselves thrown into a time when society is crumbling. The player must find a way to their goal by switching back and forward through time to reveal the secret that will keep your clan alive.

ABOUT MY ROLE
For this project I was one of 3 game designers and the primary 3D artist. I was tasked with planning the flow of the docklands, its grey-boxing, and completion. It was also my responsibility to grey-box and complete the village, along with adding the final visual details to the city. 

Also being the 3D artist, it was up to me to keep track of what 3D assets were required. While the majority of assets were bought online, they were not optimised to be used in a game and needed to be modified. Using Maya, I turned a range of buildings that had up to 200,000 tris into more reasonable assets that only had a few dozen tris with the option to show / hide certain high poly features. 

For the assets that could not be sourced online, it was my responsibility to model and texture them using either Substance Painter or by recycling textures from bought assets. I found that designing and creating the assets for the village was a fun challenge, as the goal was to make them look as though they did not belong to any singular culture.
